The Core Vertical Switch Management (VSM) platform is an application-driven

solution for the unique cabling challenges presented by vertical blade-based core

switch systems.

This modular system is designed to efficiently and effectively support deployment

of cabling on the front of a Cisco 7010 series chassis.

FEATURES

Cabling routes directly from switch ports to patch panels above

the switch – Frees up space at the sides of the mounting rails for

other cabling, more eective air ﬂow and hand access.

Logical representation of the switch ports and ease of access – The vertical

patch management allows the cabling to be deployed neatly and in the same

plane as the blade and port presentation. Patch ﬁelds in line with the switch

ports simplify installation, MACs, documentation and troubleshooting.

Single patch cord lengths – Simpliﬁes Day 2 activities and reduces inventory.

Simpliﬁed blade changeover – Blades and cabling can be preconﬁgured

away from the switch, dramatically lowering changeover times and the

corresponding outages, while greatly reducing patching errors.

Robust design – Provides the durability you expect with expanded hand access.

Designed to support UCP – Quick-Fit cassettes and modules

allow a mix of copper and ﬁber in the same panel.

Supports mixed media applications and migration

from ﬁber to copper in the same chassis.
